In Nijmegen you will find 10KB, a software company that works on business-critical systems. We understand existing software and develop it further for organizations that need to rely on it every day. We are a compact group of technically curious people. Short lines, solid work, clear communication: that is what it is about for us, and long-term collaborations too.

Origin and growth
From study project to serious software company
10KB started as something that was simply fun to do during our studies: building, trying new things, unraveling technical puzzles that kept getting more complex. The collaboration between Ewout and Roland grew through more serious assignments into a full-fledged software company.
By now we are a broader team. We work for organizations with serious software challenges, and the projects have grown larger. Our enthusiasm for programming and technology has stayed with us.

What 10KB stands for
You can be yourself here. We have no dress code, and social activities are optional. We want colleagues with different backgrounds and interests to feel welcome, whether they enjoy table tennis, a conversation, or doing their own thing.
We are programmers who enjoy learning and trying new technologies. We invest in workshops, personal development, and knowledge sharing. We want to understand how something works, not only that it happens to work. We prefer solid solutions over quick fixes, and take the time for them. Copy-paste programming does not fit us. We value craftsmanship and understanding in our work.
Good work should not put structural stress on people. We are flexible with working hours and location, and we encourage a healthy work-life balance. Working from home? That is fine. Mentoring, clear communication, and realistic planning keep unnecessary pressure outside. No rushed deadlines; room for relaxation, social activities, and personal boundaries. Panic does not produce good work. If something is only achievable through structural stress, usually something is not right.
At 10KB you get plenty of freedom, together with real responsibility. That ownership covers your work and how it develops, so you do more than close tickets. You talk to clients, make decisions, and solve problems end to end. That asks for independence, and it leads to better software and more honest collaboration.
With us you talk about what matters in a straightforward way, without politics, unnecessary formalities, or side conversations. We address each other and ask clarifying questions when something is unclear. An honest no is fine when it is needed. Short lines and clarity: that direct style comes from respect, not from rudeness.
